( Oppo ) A New Mid-Range Phone with 64-bit Processor

Oppo Mirror 3 Back

Oppo has launched its new mid-range smartphone in India and it is called Oppo Mirror 3. This is Oppo's second 64-bit smartphone and is powered by a Snapdragon 410 Processor.

The Mirror 3 sports a 4.7-inch HD display (1280 x 720 pixels resolution) and is powered by a Snapdragon 410 64-bit processor, which is clocked at 1.2 GHz . It comes with 1 GB  Ram and 8 GB Internal storage, which can also be expanded to upto 128 GB via microSD card.

It has an 8 MP Rear Facing Camera along with LED Flash and at the front has a 5 MP Selfie Camera. It runs on a 2000 mAh battery, which could/should be better, considering that it is bundled with a 64-bit processor.

It runs on Android 4.4.4 Kitkat based on Oppo's custom Color OS UI version 2.0.1. The connectivity features includes GSM, WCDMA, dual SIM slots, Bluetooth 4.0,  NFC Type A/B and WiFi .

According to some sources the Mirror 3 should cost around $280, which is approx Rs 17,500, but is priced at Rs 16,990 in India and will be available in 2 color variants: Black and White.

The availability of this phone in international market outside Asia-pacific countries is still a question. And we hope that it will be answered soon.

The specs of this phone seems pretty low, when comparing to other phone in this price bracket or even with lower priced smartphones. For example, take Asus Zenfone 5, which has almost same specs as The Mirror 3, expect the 64-bit processor and NFC support, but is available at much lower price i.e Rs 7,999 or $ 128 (1.2 GHz variant) or Rs 9,999 or $ 160 (1.6 GHz variant ).

In my opinion, this Oppo Mirror 3, won't be able to stand with other mid-range phones available or yet to be available in the market. The correct price of this phone should be around Rs 13,000 or $ 210 (aprrox), keeping in mind the 64-bit Snapdragon processor. But, it is priced at a much higher price than that.

So, do you think The Oppo Mirror 3 will survive in this much saturated market with such specs and pricing ? When we have phones like Asus Zenfone 2, Xiaomi Mi 4, etc.
