Announced in January 2015, the Samsung Galaxy A7 is a phone that pushes the boundaries of technology in the world of smartphones. We have come to expect something rather special from Samsung and what is immediately clear from this phone is that we are not going to be disappointed. Samsung have made a habit of producing phones that are simply gorgeous to look at. They are the Kings of style and the Samsung Galaxy A7 is certainly stunning to not only look at, but to also handle.
This particular phone comes with a 5.5 inch super AMOLED touchscreen and it has a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. This gives it a pixel density of 401 ppi and when you mix that in with the standard 16M colors, then you have a phone that provides you with a display that is out of this world. It gives depth to color and icons, everything is razor sharp, and there is no way that you can be disappointed. Personally speaking, this display is pretty much like watching graphics on a Samsung television and we all know how crisp those images tend to be. Our recommendation is to ramp up the color intensity to really get the full on display experience, but just remember that it will drain your battery and on this phone that battery cannot be removed.
For dimensions, the phone might sound big as it measures 5.94 x 3.00 x 0.25 inches and as soon as you handle it you will be amazed at how they could cram so much technology into a phone that is as thin as this.
The Hardware
As the Samsung Galaxy A7 is aimed towards the middle and top end of the market, then clearly the hardware needs to meet those expectations. This phone is not exactly slow and there are a couple of different processor options available. The first is a quad-core CortexA53 1.7 GHz processor or aCortexA15 1.8 GHz processor. To be honest, either are good enough and you are not going to be disappointed especially as both options are backed up by 2 GB of RAM.
There may be other phones out there that offer you 4 GB of RAM, but the memory on this phone is a good match up with the processor without there being any lagging or it hampering your experience with the phone. Your browsing is going to be nice and smooth no matter what you are doing on your phone.
For storage, then you are going to start off with 16 GB, but you can expand that via a card up to a total of 64 GB and this is more than enough for most of the people that will own this phone. However, we recommend upgrading it to at least 32 GB as quickly as possible due to the size of files you will be recording with the camera.
Camera And Other Features
So, the hardware with this phone is pretty good, but nowadays we tend to focus more on the features that come with a smartphone and Samsung have done themselves proud. First, the Samsung Galaxy A7 has two cameras with the main one on the rear being 13 megapixels while the front facing camera has 5 megapixels.
There might be phones out there with cameras that have more megapixels, but in all honesty you really do not need anything more than 13 megapixels for normal photographs. However, the beauty of this camera is that the 13 megapixels version has 4128 x 3096 pixels and it is packed full of features, which is something you would expect considering the fantastic cameras that Samsung produce. In this instance, it has autofocus, touch focus, HDR, face detection, panorama, and geo-tagging. It also has full HD video at 30fps, so it is capable of taking fantastic shots that really will blow your mind. These features are only on the rear facing camera, so our tip is to still try and use that for a selfie thanks to the autofocus as we found that this resulted in a better image.

However, perhaps the best thing about this phone is that it might be of superb quality, but it is also very easy to use. In our opinion this is a major advantage over phones that cost more and have a more complex camera. Who actually wants to fumble around with a camera on their phone when they want to take a shot there and then and not sometime in the future?
Other key features with the A7 are pretty much standard as we are talking about the same kind of connections as other phones, the ability to play different file types, and it also comes in three different colors including pearl white, champagne gold, and midnight black.

There are a number of reasons as to why this phone will change your life, but perhaps the main reason is the balance it is able to strike between the cost and the quality of the phone itself. Quite simply, you can pay more for a phone that has a poorer processor, poorer camera, and the display will also not be as clear. You are getting the full on visual Samsung experience for a fraction of the price.
The phone itself is lightweight, it is big enough without venturing into phablet territory, and it has the power to deal with pretty much anything that you are likely to throw at it. Sure, there will always be some people that will want a faster processor, but in all honesty that is just seeking out more power to boast about it. With what this phone is capable of doing, Samsung have given you more than enough so you can get the full on smartphone experience.
