In line with earlier reports, an Asus executive today confirmed that the Zenfone 2 will launch in India in the second quarter. It will be followed by the Zenfone Zoom, which will launch in the third quarter, GSMArena reports.Asus India country head Peter Chang had earlier hinted that the company was planning to postpone the ZenWatch launch which was announced at previous years IFA. The ZenWatch is expected to start retailing after the launch of Zenfone 2, Zenfone Zoom and Zenbooks running on Windows.
Until now two variants of the Asus Zenfone 2 have been spotted, the one showcased at CES is a 5.5-inch screened variant and another one that surfaced just recently with a 5-inch version.
A quick recap on the Zenfone 2 specifications, it features a 5.5-inch HD display and is powered by Intel’s next gen 64-bit Atom Z3580 quad-core processor. It also includes a 13-megapixel auto focus primary shooter, 5-megapixel secondary camera, and on the software front, runs on Android Lollipop wrapped under Zen UI.
The Zenfone Zoom, on the other hand, features a 5.5-inch full HD (1920×1080 pixels) IPS display, 13-megapixel camera with 3X optical zoom, 5-megapixel camera for selfie lovers, and on the software front, it runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop wrapped under the company’s Zen UI.
