Xiaomi Mi 4 unleashed in India at Rs 19,999

Xiaomi Mi 4
The Xiaomi Mi 4 was launched in India today, at a price of Rs 19,999.
As you can probably tell from that name, the Mi 4 is a successor to the Xiaomi Mi 3 which was the company’s previous flagship smartphone. Similar to their previous phone models, the Mi 4 will be sold on Flipkart, on a registration-required flash sale.

Incase you havent heard of it before, the Xiaomi Mi 4 was announced back in July 2014, and features a 5-inch 1080p display from JDI/Sharp with a pixel density of 441 PPI, protected by Corning’s OGS. The phone also features a 2.5Ghz quad-core Snapdragon 801, an Adreno 330 GPU, 3G RAM, 16GB internal memory (no microSD card slot though), 13 megapixel rear camera using a Sony Exmor RS stacked image sensor and 6-element lens, 8 megapixel 80 degree wide angle front facing camera which uses a BSI sensor from Sony and a 5 element lens, and a 3080 mAh non-removable battery.
All that, and it is running MIUI v6 based on Android 4.4 KitKat. The Mi 4 also features a metallic mid frame with chamfered edges, and a back cover with “grating pattern design” with 9 layers of membranes developed by the company using a new In Mold Transfer (IMT) technology. While there is no LTE support for India, Hugo Barra stated that Xiaomi will be releasing the 64GB version of the Mi 4 in the country eventually. Let’s hope it isnt too long a wait, eh?
Pre-registrations for the Xiaomi Mi 4 start from 6pm today, January 28th with the device going on sale on February 10th on Flipkart.
