iOS 5,6,7…. They were ordinary advancements, nothing to be called something out of the box. They could be rivaled. You could compare them with Android and decide what to spend upon. But this time Apple has come up with something that it calls ‘the best operating system ever‘ with the biggest ever iOS update in form of iOS8.
You would call it boasting, but they are right with their claim. Or at least it seems to be right till users give a negative feedback in the rarest case. iOS is one OS that makes computing smooth. Really smooth! It was specifically designed in such a manner that they analysed each and every aspect where users faced an issue and eliminated it.
For a better explanation, let’s discuss its features below:
Photos integrated with iCloud: Till date, you had to think twice about your phone’s internal and external memory while clicking HD quality pics. Not so with iOS 8 where pics are stored in their own iCloud library and can be accessed from anywhere, anytime you want from any device you want. It is much easier to search the catelog of images since iCloud allows you to search them as per category. Its search bar is much smarter than it predecessors. For it searches all categories as per what you usually search and not as per the general alogorithm. Editing images is interesting with the new OD. The best part is that you can edit the finest of details. Then, with iOS8, you won’t have to think about the right allignment while clicking the pic. It auto aligns itself even after being clicked. And yes, iOS8 is smart enough do it (just telling again).
Messages: What apple did with iOS8 is a kind of fantasy come true thing for messaging lovers. You can litterally record your voice while typing a message and send it alongside. There was an option to add voice messages but it was never on the go. This time the job is just like a cakewalk. The OS have a microphone shaped button atop. You can simply press the icon, record your voice and swipe to send. Other than audio, video recordings have a simlar advantage here. You can record the video and send it with a swipe. Apart from this, something like skype, you can make conference/group chats with it.
The OS has a feature using which you can easily share your location with a click. And this location saves on the message thread in a graphical map format. So if someone asks, where are you, you well know how to answer. Using it, you can tap to check out each and every attachment in the message thread and you can send multiple attachments at a time. This is something that was never feasible prior to this update.
Design: People judge design when buying hardware. Say phones or tablets. But iOS7 is the one which set such standards where design became a factor with an OS. iOS8 moves a step ahead. Sorry, ‘a step ahead’ won’t be the right phrase here. We should say a leap ahead. This time design makes usability smooth like butter on bread. To start with, its a boon for those who are much involved with multi-tasking. Just tap the home key twice and it re-directs you to the multi-tasking interface. Here you can see all those faces you recently interacted with. And that feature on getting notifications on getting a mail and other notifications stays live just like its predcessors. Other than that, iOS8 brings Safari to iPad just like in iPhone. And this version of Safari is much better when it comes to handling.
Keyboard: Till date, iOS8 has the smartest keyboard ever. A keyboard which has the capability to think what you are about to say next. eg. You say “I would be …” and it will suggest words like ‘going’, ‘talking’, leaving’, etc. as per your mindset. Now this makes typing an SMS quicker than typing on that typical desktop keyboard. This property of predicting the next word is available in 14 countries and their languages.
